| Who
are we? |
The
Commonwealth Youth Programme Asia Centre is one of four regional
centres of the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) of
the Commonwealth Secretariat, London, UK. It is the youth development
and empowerment wing of the Commonwealth
Secretariat. The CYP is the only international, intergovernmental
agency devoted entirely to youth development.
The other regional centres are located in: |

Africa: Lusaka, Zambia

Caribbean: Georgetown, Guyana

South Pacific: Honiara, Solomon Islands (temporarily in Brisbane,
Australia)

CYP
Asia Centre envisions a society in which young women and men are
empowered to develop their full potential and are able
to maximise their participation in development and democracy, shaping
the present and future of their communities and societies. |
| Mission |

CYP
Asia Centre’s mission is to provide young citizens of the
Commonwealth with critical knowledge, skills and opportunities
effectively in the development and governance of their communities
and societies. In
doing so we assist ministries, national youth organisations
and other stakeholders to build the enabling environment for youth
development and participation. We support the efforts of Commonwealth
member countries in the formulation of policies and
development programmes which effectively address issues and concerns
of young women and men in Asia. |
