The
Commonwealth Youth Programme Technology Empowerment Centre (CYPTEC)
is the Information Communication Technology section of CYP Asia
Centre. The main aim of CYPTEC is to bring the young people of
Commonwealth member countries on par with the information age
and reduce the digital divide marked by a lack of access to computer
technology in the developing world.
Objectives
–
To
provide a range of youth development activities focusing on the use
of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in a manner designed
to narrow the digital divide.
To
provide ICT knowledge to disadvantaged young people through scholarships
and/or at reduced fee structure.
To
empower young people by providing appropriate training modules on
Information Communication Technology and Human Resource Development.
